2023 ASQ Awards: Eight Airports in Africa Earn Recognition
Morocco, Tanzania, and Senegal recognised in the ACI World 2023 ASQ Awards, based on nearly 600,000 passenger surveys.
Airports Council International (ACI) World, in collaboration with Amadeus, has revealed the winners of the 2023 Airport Service Quality Awards.
ACI World outlined that a record number of over 400 airports participated in the 2023 ASQ program, with passengers submitting about 595,000 surveys.
The passenger feedback categories for departures included ‘Best Airports by Size and Region’, ‘Most Dedicated Staff’, ‘Easiest Airport Journey’, ‘Most Enjoyable Airport’, and ‘Cleanest Airport’.
In the Africa region, Morocco’s Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport, the country’s largest airport emerged victorious across all five departure categories.

- Under 2 million annual passengers: Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (Zanzibar, Tanzania), Ivato International Airport (Antananarivo, Madagascar), Moi International Airport (Mombasa, Kenya).
- 2 to 5 million annual passengers: Dakar Blaise Diagne International Airport (Senegal), Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (Mauritius).
- 5 to 15 million annual passengers: Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport (Casablanca, Morocco), Marrakech Menara Airport (Marrakech, Morocco).
Most Dedicated Staff Award: Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport (Morocco), Aéroport de la Réunion Roland Garros (Sainte-Marie, Reunion).
Easiest Airport Journey Award: Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport (Morocco), Marrakech Menara Airport (Morocco).
Most Enjoyable Airport Award: Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport (Morocco), Dakar Blaise Diagne International Airport (Diass, Senegal).
Cleanest Airport Award: Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport (Morocco), Marrakech Menara Airport (Morocco).

ACI highlights that ASQ surveys capture real-time passenger satisfaction directly at airports, encompassing over 30 crucial aspects of the passenger journey.
