The Airports Council International (ACI) World has released its preliminary ranking of the top 10 busiest airports worldwide for 2023.
The airport rankings rely on data from 2,600+ airports in over 180 countries and territories worldwide.
According to ACI World, passenger traffic reached nearly 8.5 billion globally in 2023, a remarkable 93.8% recovery compared to pre-pandemic levels.
Notably, international travel saw a faster recovery than domestic flights, highlighting its vital role in the industry’s growth.
Top 10 Busiest Airports in 2023
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport retained its number one spot, handling 104,653,451 passengers.
Dubai International Airport has climbed to second place for the first time, with a passenger count of 86,994,365.

Tokyo’s Haneda Airport made a significant jump, landing in fifth place after being ranked 16th in 2022.
Airports in Istanbul and New Delhi also held strong positions, demonstrating significant progress since 2019.
