Africa World Airlines Commences Accra–Ouagadougou Service
AWA launches three weekly flights from Accra to Ouagadougou, enhancing regional ties.

Africa World Airlines (AW) launched direct flights between Accra, Ghana, and Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on July 1, 2025, enhancing regional connectivity in West Africa.
The inaugural flight was attended by AWA Founder Togbe Afede XIV, who met with Burkina Faso’s Prime Minister and His Majesty the Mogho Naaba to announce the new route.
The airline will operate three weekly flights from Kotoka International Airport (ACC) to Thomas Sankara International Airport (OUA)
“Our skies just got broader! Together, we fly toward a better-connected Africa,” AWA stated on X (formerly Twitter), emphasising the importance of this new service for regional ties.
