At the 54th Paris Air Show on June 21, 2023, Gabon-based private airline Afrijet and AURA AERO, a French aircraft manufacturer, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for ERA, the electric regional aircraft, expected to enter commercial service before 2030.

According to AURA AERO, ERA is a new eco-responsible aircraft incorporating many avionic, aerodynamic, and propelling innovations. It is a solution to the decarbonisation of regional aviation and can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 80% compared to thermal aircraft in the same category.

The versatile aircraft can transport 19 passengers or 1.9 tons of freight freight and adaptable for business aviation with an 8 or 9-passenger configuration. With a pressurised cabin, exceptional passenger comfort, and a range of up to 1,600 km, ERA can land at major international airports as well as on short, unprepared runways.
