Air Seychelles and SriLankan Airlines Announce Codeshare Partnership
Air Seychelles and Sri Lankan Airlines partner on codeshare, expanding network to 20+ destinations.
Air Seychelles and Sri Lankan Airlines have signed a codeshare agreement.
This enables passengers flying between Mahé, Seychelles (SEZ) and Colombo, Sri Lanka (CMB) to connect to over 20 destinations beyond these initial points.
The partnership, announced on April 19, 2024, strengthens the existing interline agreement established in June 2023.
20+ Destinations Now Accessible
The codeshare agreement allows both airlines to place their codes on each other’s flights, enabling passengers to book a single ticket for travel to over 20 destinations, including popular hubs like Sydney (SYD), Melbourne (MEL), Bangkok (BKK), Singapore (SIN), and Kuala Lumpur (KUL).
Additionally, passengers can have baggage checked through to their final destination and the convenience of booking their flights through either airline, online travel agencies, or local travel agents.
Building on Success
This codeshare agreement comes after the successful launch of Air Seychelles’ twice-weekly flights to Colombo in June 2023.
Air Seychelles CEO Sandy Benoiton expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Colombo route and believes the codeshare will provide passengers with greater convenience and access to a wider network.
SriLankan Airlines CEO Richard Nuttall highlighted the partnership’s significance in expanding their codeshare network and presence in Africa, hinting at the possibility of future collaborations offering more African destinations.
