Air Seychelles Launches New Seasonal Flights to Réunion

Direct flights connecting Seychelles and Réunion commence late December 2024.

Air Seychelles (HM) in collaboration with Tourism Seychelles, has announced the launch of seasonal flights connecting the islands of Seychelles and Réunion, starting December 30, 2024.

Boosting Connectivity and Tourism Exchange

The airline has noted, that this initiative, undertaken in collaboration with Tourism Seychelles, aims to strengthen air links between the two Indian Ocean destinations. 

The seasonal service is expected to promote tourism exchange, allowing travellers to explore the unique offerings of both islands.

Seychelles-Réunion Flight Schedule Details

  • Frequency: One weekly direct flight to Réunion
  • Inaugural Flight: Departs Roland Garros Airport on December 30, 2024, arriving at Seychelles International Airport later that afternoon.
  • Subsequent Flights: Depart Seychelles International Airport on January 6, 13, and 18, 2025, at 08:00, arriving at Roland Garros Airport in Réunion at 10:35. Return flights depart Réunion at 11:35, arriving in Seychelles at 14:10.
    Note: Flights on January 6, 13, and 18, 2025, include a technical stop in Mauritius.

Strategic Move for Both Airlines

According to Air Seychelles CEO, Mr. Sandy Benoiton, the new service builds on the positive response following the signing of a codeshare agreement with Air Austral last month.

He emphasised the convenience of the flights coinciding with the holiday period, allowing travellers a hassle-free journey to Seychelles for the New Year.

Boosting Tourism in Seychelles

Bernadette Willemin, Director General for Destination Marketing at Tourism Seychelles, expressed excitement about the new flights. She highlighted the significance of this initiative in attracting visitors from Réunion to Seychelles.

The increased accessibility is expected to contribute to a rise in visitor arrivals, further solidifying Seychelles’ position as a leading tourist destination in the Indian Ocean region.
