Air Tanzania (TC) took delivery of its third Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, christened “The Great Serengeti Migration,” on August 20, 2024, at Zanzibar’s Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ).

The aircraft was welcomed by the President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Hon. Dr. Hussein Mwinyi, on behalf of President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, along with government officials, airline staff, and other dignitaries.

President Mwinyi underscored the importance of the new aircraft for boosting Tanzania’s economy through tourism and trade.

He directed the Ministry of Transport and ATCL management to ensure the aircraft’s commercial and efficient operation.

President Mwinyi highlighted Tanzania’s tourism potential and ATCL’s role in promoting the country’s attractions. He also urged the airline to maintain the aircraft for longevity.

The B787-8 Dreamliner accommodates 262 passengers, including 22 business class and 240 economy class.
