Airbus’ 20-year global market forecast, published Nov. 13, 2021 – predicts demand for 39,000 new passenger & freighter aircraft by 2040. Demand for air transport will continue to grow, driven by GDP, rising middle class, coupled with the desire to explore and connect. The demand for new aircraft expected by 2040 will include around:
- 29,700 in the Small aircraft category [A220, A320 Families].
- 5,300 in the Medium aircraft category [A321XLR, A330neo].
- 4,000 in the Large aircraft category [A350].
