Airbus A321XLR (Xtra Long Range) completed its maiden flight on June 15, 2022. The test flight lasted four hours and 35 minutes, conducted by a team of five – two test pilots and three test engineers. The Airbus A321XLR is a single-aisle aircraft in the A320neo family – developed to offer an expanded range (4,700nm/8700 km) and higher payload. The entry into service is planned for early-2024.
This is a major milestone for the A320 Family and its customers worldwide. With the A321XLR coming into service, airlines will be able to offer long-haul comfort on a single aisle aircraft, thanks to its unique Airspace cabin. The A321XLR will open new routes with unbeatable economics and environmental performance. – Philippe Mhun, Airbus EVP Programmes and Services.
