Airbus Appoints Lars Wagner as CEO of Commercial Aircraft Business
Transition set for January 2026

Airbus has announced Lars Wagner will take over as the new CEO of the Commercial Aircraft business on January 1, 2026, succeeding Christian Scherer, who will remain in his role until December 31, 2025.
According to the statement, Wagner’s transition will commence in early November 2025 to ensure continuity.
Wagner, currently CEO of MTU Aero Engines AG, has extensive experience in the aerospace sector, having held various management roles at Airbus
Wagner holds a degree in mechanical and aeronautical engineering as well as an MBA, notes Airbus in the announcement.
