Airbus to Launch New Training and Flight Operations Campus in Toulouse-Blagnac
New Airbus training centre opens in 2026
Airbus has announced the construction of a new aviation Training and Flight Operations Campus in Toulouse-Blagnac.
According to the company, this move responds to the forecasted demand (2024 GMF) for an additional 2.3 million trained workers in the airline services sector by 2043.
The new facility will be the largest of Airbus’ 15 pilot training centres globally and the only one of its kind in Europe.
Construction will begin in October 2024, with the facility expected to welcome its first trainee pilots, mechanics, and structure specialists by 2026.
Supporting Airline Growth and Safety
The training centre will be key in maintaining quality and occupational safety standards within aviation.
It will also support airlines’ crew training needs for the introduction of new Airbus aircraft into their fleets and their future growth.
New Campus Facilities and Capacity
The campus will have the capacity to enrol around 10,000 trainees annually and will feature space for up to 12 Full Flight Simulators (FFS) and 12 Airbus Procedure Trainers.
Additionally, it will include structure labs and numerous training rooms equipped for Virtual Reality (VR) and computer-based training. New office space will also be created for approximately 600 Airbus employees.
