AirlineRatings World’s Best Airline Awards 2025: Air Mauritius Leads Africa Region

AirlineRatings.com has announced its World’s Best Airline Awards for 2025.

The awards, which focus on passenger comfort, feedback, and product consistency across an airline’s route network, saw Air Mauritius (MK) ranked 24th, making it the sole African carrier to feature in the top 25 Full Service Airlines for 2025.

Each airline is thoroughly evaluated based on what it offers passengers throughout its fleet and network,” AirlineRatings.com stated.

Korean Air Takes Top Honors

Korean Air won the Airline of the Year 2025 award for its exceptional focus on passenger comfort, particularly in Economy Class, where it maintains industry-leading seat pitches of 33–34 inches on wide-body aircraft, according to AirlineRatings.

New Category: Best Hybrid Airlines

This year, AirlineRatings.com introduced a new category: Best Hybrid Airlines. “These airlines deserve recognition for their excellence in hybrid operations and their innovative offerings,” commented AirlineRatings CEO Sharon Petersen.

She added, “This is a dedicated category that celebrates hybrid airlines and their significant positive impact on the travel industry.”

Hybrid airlines combine features of both low-cost carriers (LCCs) and full-service airlines. These airlines typically offer a mix of low-cost features on short- to medium-haul routes in economy and business class, while providing a premium full-service experience on medium- to long-haul flights across all cabin classes.
