Airlink Commences Direct Flights Between Cape Town and Gaborone
New route enhances regional connectivity with thrice-weekly flights starting April 1, 2025

Airlink (4Z, South Africa) has officially introduced its direct flight route between Cape Town and Gaborone.
The airline confirmed its inaugural flight touched down in Gaborone on April 1, 2025, at 13:00. This new service will operate three times a week—on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays—using Embraer 140 regional jets.
Designed to cater to both business and leisure travelers, the route responds to growing local and international demand for a seamless connection between these two cities, stated Airlink.
Airlink’s CEO, de Villiers Engelbrecht, emphasised the strategic importance of Cape Town, which is being positioned as an alternative hub to Johannesburg.
This move aims to simplify travel for passengers heading to long-haul destinations, leveraging partnerships with international airlines to ensure smooth connections.
