Berniq Airways Boosts Fleet with A320neo Family Aircraft

Berniq Airways (NB), a private Libyan airline, has taken a major step towards fleet expansion by signing an agreement with Airbus to purchase six brand-new aircraft. 

The deal was inked on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Airbus headquarters in Toulouse, France, and includes both A320neo and A321neo aircraft.

The A321neo comfortably seats 180-220 passengers in a standard two-class layout, with a maximum capacity of 244 in high-density configurations.

Berniq Leverages Airbus’ A320neo Family Uniform Design

According to Airbus, a unique feature of the A320neo Family is its consistent design across size variations.

This allows Berniq to leverage the skills of its pilots, crews, and mechanics. By mastering one model, they can operate all models efficiently, enhancing operational efficiency.

Berniq further outlined that this agreement will be followed by several other agreements covering various areas, such as training, maintenance, and safety.

As part of their visit, the airline delegation also had the opportunity to tour the production lines of various Airbus aircraft types.

Berniq Airways currently operates an all-Airbus fleet, which includes six A320ceo aircraft.

The airline provides services to domestic destinations such as Al Abraq, Tripoli, and Zintan, as well as international routes to Jeddah, Khartoum, Tunisia, Istanbul, Cairo, and Dubai.
