Boeing Appoints New CEO – Robert K. Ortberg

Boeing has announced the appointment of Robert K. “Kelly” Ortberg as the company’s new president and chief executive officer, effective 8 August 2024.

Ortberg will also serve on Boeing’s Board of Directors. He succeeds Dave Calhoun, who previously announced his intention to retire after leading the company since January 2020.

Ortberg, 64, possesses over 35 years of leadership experience in the aerospace industry.

Prior to joining Boeing, he held senior positions at Rockwell Collins, ultimately serving as its president and CEO.

He was instrumental in the integration of Rockwell Collins into United Technologies and subsequently RTX.

Ortberg has served on the boards of several prominent companies, including RTX and Aptiv PLC.

He is also a former Chair of the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) Board of Governors.

Ortberg holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Iowa.
