Boeing has launched a new administrative office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on April 22, 2025, marking its second office on the African continent.

The company says the establishment of the new office will “enhance our ability to serve airline customers and partners across Africa,” while reinforcing Boeing’s long-standing commitment to the region’s growing aerospace industry.

The milestone event was celebrated alongside several esteemed guests, including H.E Dr. Alemu Seme, Minister of Transport & Logistics for Ethiopia, H.E Ervin Massinga, U.S. Ambassador to Ethiopia, Getachew Mengiste, Director General of the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority, and Mesfin Tassew, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group.

Commitment to Africa’s Aerospace Industry

Boeing highlighted its 75-year legacy in Africa and expressed optimism about the future, stating that the new hub reflects “our dedication to fostering innovation and collaboration to drive growth in Africa’s aviation sector.

The company notes that it has more than 60 airline customers operating around 500 Boeing airplanes throughout the continent.

In 2023, Boeing underscored its focus on regional leadership by appointing Henok Teferra Shawl as Managing Director for Boeing Africa.

The company described its leadership structure as pivotal to strengthening operations and supporting long-term opportunities across the African continent.
