Brussels Airlines Resumes Flights to Nairobi

The Belgian airline relaunches Nairobi route with 6 weekly A330 flights.

Brussels Airlines (SN), the Africa expert within the Lufthansa Group, has re-launched direct flights between Brussels (BRU) and Nairobi (NBO), Kenya.

The service resumed on June 3, 2024, with flight SN481 operating the route using an Airbus A330-300 aircraft.

Flight SN481 departed from Brussels following a gate-event attended by Dorothea von Boxberg, CEO of Brussels Airlines, Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport, and Peter Maddens, the Belgian ambassador in Kenya.

The airline will operate six weekly flights on the BRU-NBO route utilising its recently delivered Airbus A330 aircraft.

Bolstering Africa Network

Furthermore, Brussels Airlines has increased its frequency to Kigali, Rwanda, now offering daily flights.

Markette emphasised that this move positions the carrier as “the sole airline operating daily flights to Kigali from mainland Europe.”

Brussels Airlines, which operates to 18 destinations in sub-Saharan Africa, has outlined ambitious growth plans, with the re-launch of the Nairobi (Kenya) route “as [the] first tangible result of this expansion.”
