Cape Town to Host World Travel Market (WTM) Africa 2025

WTM Africa event themed "Ignite Africa" in April 2025 offers networking, deals, and industry insights.

The World Travel Market (WTM) Africa has announced it will return to Cape Town, South Africa, from April 9-11, 2025, as part of Africa Travel Week.

Held under the theme ‘Ignite Africa,’ the event at Cape Town’s International Conference Centre (CICC) promises to be a pivotal gathering for tourism.

Megan De Jager, Portfolio Director for RX Africa, highlighted the event’s focus on connection and innovation:

Cape Town Mayor, Geordin Hill-Lewis, expressed excitement about hosting WTM Africa 2025. He emphasised the event’s role in unlocking Africa’s tourism potential and its potential to attract global travel and tourism professionals.

The event delivers a proven mix of hosted buyers, suppliers, media representatives, pre-scheduled appointments, networking, and evening functions, ensuring valuable engagement for all attendees.

A Diverse Programme: Aviation Takes Center Stage

The 2025 program features new “content clusters” that bring together keynote presentations from industry experts and emerging voices, panel discussions, and practical workshops on key topics like sustainable aviation, artificial intelligence in tourism, and next-generation marketing.

A notable highlight of the WTM Africa 2025 program is the introduction of a dedicated half-day aviation conference, which seeks to address pressing industry challenges and explore opportunities in sustainable aviation.

The Africa Tourism Investment Conference: This event, in partnership with JLL, will explore investment opportunities within the African tourism sector.

Youth Development Initiatives:  WTM Africa focuses on nurturing future tourism leaders with a dedicated youth development section, providing opportunities for networking, learning, and growth.
