The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has released its third edition of the Best Tourism Villages list for 2023. The announcement was made during the UNWTO General Assembly on October 19, 2023, in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

The list includes 54 villages from all regions, featuring notable entries from Ethiopia and Egypt. The selection was made from nearly 260 applications. An additional 20 villages have joined the Upgrade Programme, bringing the total to 74 villages now part of the UNWTO Best Tourism Villages Network.

These villages demonstrate a commitment to preserving community-based values and a clear dedication to innovation and sustainability across economic, social, and environmental dimensions.
