The Egypt International Airshow 2024 is set to illuminate the nation’s expanding space sector.
As a pivotal partner, the Egyptian Space Agency will be at the forefront, demonstrating its relentless efforts to realise the objectives of the National Space Programme and contribute significantly to “Egypt-SDS 2030.”
A Hub for Collaboration
In the lead-up to the Airshow, the pre-Airshow conference “New Space Horizons-Africa and the Middle East” is scheduled to convene regional space leaders.
This gathering, taking place in Cairo’s “Space City” – the nerve centre of the African Space Agency, is designed to foster collaboration and facilitate dialogue on pressing space-related issues.
A Global Stage for Innovation
The Airshow provides a unique platform for exhibitors to connect with a global audience, including space agencies from Africa and the Middle East.
Visitors will have the opportunity to delve into Egypt’s latest space projects, including an exclusive look at its satellite monitoring station and the much-anticipated launch of the Nexsat-1 remote sensing satellite.
Dr Sherif Sedky, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency, says of the event:
“With two launched satellites, a space city, the operationalisation of the African Space Agency in the country, several bilateral agreements in advancements in space technology, and other satellite projects in various development stages, Egypt is growing its capacity in the global space economy.”
Thomas Gaunt, CEO of Arabian World Events, the organisers of Egypt International Airshow, added:
“Egypt’s strategic importance as a growing regional space power, make it the ideal host for this pivotal international event. Recent years have witnessed an unprecedented surge in space activities across the African continent and neighbouring Middle Eastern countries, a trend that is expected to grow exponentially. The Egypt International Airshow will be a focal point for space activities across the MENA region.”
Egypt International Airshow is the only Africa-focused airshow covering defence, space, and commercial aviation. Over 250 companies are expected to attend, showcasing cutting-edge technologies and fostering collaboration.
