Egypt International Airshow Inaugurated by President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi
Egypt’s first international airshow attracts over 300 companies from 100+ countries
The first edition of the Egypt International Airshow commenced on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at El Alamein International Airport on the northern coast.
The event was inaugurated by Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, who also attended an airshow held on the sidelines of the event.
Egypt’s inaugural airshow has attracted over 300 aviation and aerospace companies and agencies from more than 100 countries and regions, making it the largest in Africa and the Middle East, as noted by state media.
Airshow Performances
The first day featured a flight performance by the Egyptian Air Force’s aerobatic team, the Silver Stars, followed by a solo display of a Rafale jet.
Air forces from China, the United States, France, Italy, the Czech Republic, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye, and India also showcased their skills, including notable solo displays of Saudi Arabia’s Eurofighter Typhoon, China’s Y-20, and the UAE’s Mirage 2000.
Official Attendance and Inspections
Minister of Defence Abdel-Meguid Saqr, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces Ahmed Khalifa, several ministers and senior state officials, and representatives of companies and countries participating in the event also attended the show.
President El-Sisi watched a documentary about the history of aviation in Egypt before inspecting the pavilions and exhibits of national and international companies.
