EGYPTAIR (MS) recently announced ambitious plans to expand its network and forge strategic partnerships within the Chinese market, as reported by China Daily during ITB China 2024.

These initiatives aim to improve connectivity, foster cultural exchange, and attract more Chinese tourists to Egypt.

Increased Frequencies and New Routes

A key element of EgyptAir’s expansion involves increasing the frequency of its existing Cairo-Shanghai route to four flights per week starting July 14th, 2024.

Additionally, the airline has hinted at plans for future service to Beijing.

Amr Adawy, Vice President (Commercial), underscored the airline’s dedication to expanding its Chinese footprint. “[China] is a top priority…due to its vast population and significant passenger volume,” stated Adawy.

We aim to expand our destinations in China to foster greater cooperation and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Currently serving various Chinese cities with 16 weekly flights from Cairo, including Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou in Zhejiang province, as reported by China Daily – EgyptAir is poised to add routes to Hong Kong and the coastal city of Xiamen in Fujian province.
