Emirates Inaugurates Service to Antananarivo, Madagascar

Four-weekly flights via Seychelles, starting September 4, 2024

Emirates (EK) inaugurated its flight to Antananarivo, Madagascar on September 4, 2024.

Upon arrival, the flight was celebrated with a water cannon salute at Ivato International Airport. This was followed by an exclusive event attended by VIPs, government officials, industry guests, and media.

The airline reported that Flight EK707, operated by a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, featured eight private suites in First Class, 42 lie-flat seats in Business Class, and 310 seats in Economy Class. The flight carried an almost full passenger load from Mahe, Seychelles, effectively merging two trips into one.

Remarks from President Rajoelina and Adnan Kazim

His Excellency, Andry Rajoelina, President of Madagascar, and the First Lady greeted the Emirates delegation, led by Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer.

President Rajoelina stated, “This inaugural flight between Dubai and Antananarivo is a historic moment for Madagascar, acting as a catalyst for tourism and economic development.”

Adnan Kazim added, “Madagascar is a new and exciting destination on our global network. We support the Malagasy government’s vision to attract one million tourists by 2028 by enhancing connectivity and premium travel options.”

Dubai-Antananarivo Flight Schedule (via Mahe)

EK707 departs Dubai at 08:55, arriving in Mahe at 13:35, and continues to Antananarivo, landing at 16:50.

The return flight EK708 departs Antananarivo at 18:35, landing in Mahe at 22:20, and takes off from Mahe at 23:50 to Dubai, landing at 04:20 the next day.

The four-weekly service operates on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, optimising connections to key points in Europe, the Far East, West Asia, and the Middle East/GCC.
