Ethiopian Airlines Adds 20th Airbus A350 with Delivery Flight Powered by SAF

Ethiopian Airlines (ET) received its 20th Airbus A350-900 aircraft, registration ET-AZN in April 2023. The delivery flight of the A350 to Addis Ababa Bole International Airport was powered by a 30 percent Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) blend. Additionally, the airline disclosed that the delivery flight to Ethiopia included the transport of 10 tonnes of humanitarian aid.

“The delivery flight used 30 percent blend Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) thus reducing its carbon footprint and contributing to the ambition set by IATA, ATAG and ICAO to reach ‘net zero carbon emissions by 2050.’ “
