Ethiopian Airlines, Xinjiang Airport Group sign MoU on transport, trade.

Ethiopian Airlines announced on May 13, 2025 that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Xinjiang Airport Group, aiming to enhance cooperation in passenger and cargo transport, cross-border e-commerce, high-tech industries, and the movement of perishable goods.
The agreement, according to Ethiopian, was formalised during a visit to Addis Ababa by H.E. Mr. Erkin Tuniyaz, Chairman of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, alongside delegates from Xinjiang Commercial Group and Xinjiang Airport Group.
Strengthening Bilateral Aviation Ties
Following the signing, the delegation engaged in high-level discussions with Ethiopian Airlines Group CCO Lemma Yadecha and the airline’s executive management team, Ethiopian states.
The airline emphasises that the partnership aligns with regional development goals, reinforcing innovation, mutual growth, and deeper cooperation between China and Africa.
A Growing China-Africa Aviation Partnership
Ethiopian Airlines notes that this collaboration lays the groundwork for long-term connectivity and economic integration, reflecting strengthening diplomatic and commercial ties between the two regions.
