On August 18, 2023, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Ethiopian Airlines Group, the Ethiopian Investment Commission, and the Industrial Parks Development Corporation.

The agreement, which also involves a joint venture with Boeing, will allow Ethiopian Airlines Group to build a shed near Killinto Industrial Park to manufacture aerospace parts.

The Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) announced that Ethiopian Airlines Group will manufacture aerospace parts as part of their 2009 manufacturing plan.

The company will produce aircraft thermo-acoustic insulation blankets, electrical wire harnesses, and other parts, with a planned capital investment of 15 million USD. The project is expected to create employment opportunities for more than 300 Ethiopians.
