Ethiopian Airlines Orders First A350-1000 in Africa
Ethiopian to welcome A350-1000 in 4Q 2024.
Ethiopian Airlines (ET) has ordered the first Airbus A350-1000 and has upsized its order for four A350-900 aircraft to A350-1000s.
The airline is set to become the first operator of the A350-1000, the largest variant of the A350 family, in Africa.
According to Airbus, the Ethiopian’s backlog now consists of four A350-1000s and two A350-900s.
“The A350-1000 is the ideal aircraft for our dense routes,” said Mesfin Tasew, Ethiopian Group CEO. “We believe that upsizing will be instrumental in satisfying the increasing demand of customers in our vast global network across five continents.”
