Etihad Airways (EY) and Egyptair (MS) have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), a move set to strengthen commercial and operational ties between the two airlines.

The carriers announced this strategic partnership aims to offer travellers a wider array of choices, higher quality services, and increased value.

The existing codeshare agreement between the two airlines provides customers with enhanced connectivity to destinations across each other’s networks.

This includes routes between Egypt and the UAE, as well as beyond Cairo into Africa and beyond Abu Dhabi into Asia.

The agreement allows guests to book their entire journey on a single ticket, offering the convenience of having their baggage checked through seamlessly to their final destination.

The MoU is set to expand the codeshare agreements between the two airlines. This will provide EGYPTAIR passengers with seamless access to more of Etihad’s network, including multiple destinations in Asia and Australia.

In a reciprocal arrangement, Etihad customers will gain seamless access to further destinations on the EGYPTAIR network, in addition to the routes already in scope.

The implementation of this MoU is subject to regulatory approvals.
