Etihad Airways and Royal Air Maroc (AT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on June 3, 2024, to enhance their commercial and operational partnership for the benefit of their customers.

The airlines emphasised, the agreement shows a commitment to enhancing cooperation to provide travellers with more options, better services, and additional value while promoting sustainable aviation.

Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, said: “This agreement covers a broad range of activities from exploring the expansion of existing codeshare arrangements to cover more domestic routes in Morocco and Africa, to looking at developing existing frequent flyer programme co-operation, and exploring collaborations on ground handling, maintenance and engineering.

The current codeshare agreement provides customers of both airlines with improved connectivity to destinations across each other’s networks, including destinations in Morocco and the UAE. This also extends beyond Casablanca in Africa and beyond Abu Dhabi.

This agreement allows passengers to book their entire journey on a single ticket and have their baggage seamlessly checked through to their final destination.
