Ghana and South Africa Ink Visa Waiver Deal for Ordinary Passport Holders
Visa waiver for ordinary passport holders starts in Ghana and South Africa from November 1, 2023

On October 13, 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of the Republic of Ghana announced a visa waiver agreement with the Republic of South Africa. This agreement, applicable to holders of ordinary passports, is set to take effect from 1st November 2023.
Implications for Travellers
Under this agreement, travellers can transit through, depart from, and stay in the territories of both countries for a cumulative period of up to ninety (90) days without the need to work.
In a statement, the Ministry advises travellers to note this development as a significant milestone in Ghana and South Africa relations.
