Ibom Air Debuts New A220 on Domestic Route
Ibom Air's brand new A220-300, Reg. 5N-CDA begins commercial flights.
Nigeria’s Ibom Air (QI) introduced its brand-new Airbus A220-300, Reg. 5N-CDA, into commercial service on April 29, 2024.
The inaugural A220 flight flew from Victor Attah International Airport (QUO) in Uyo to Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS).
Governor Celebrates Milestone
The A220 launch flight was accompanied by Akwa Ibom State and airline officials, including the Executive Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno. The Governor remarked:
“Exciting day as we inaugurated a new aircraft, an Airbus A220-300, into the fleet of Ibom Air! Joined by my Executive Council members, we embarked on a flight from the Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo to Lagos State. This addition marks a significant milestone in our commitment to position Akwa Ibom as a leader in aviation in Nigeria.”
A220 Acquisition
Ibom Air’s brand new A220 was welcomed into their fleet on December 08, 2023, with financing provided by Zenith Bank, according to the airline.
