Ibom Air (QI) announced the arrival of its second Airbus A220-300 aircraft, which arrived in Nigeria via Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on August 10, 2024.

The Shareholder, the Akwa Ibom State Government, formally received the aircraft on August 20th, 2024, at Akwa Ibom State’s Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo.

According to Ibom Air, this acquisition aligns with its “strategic goal of rapidly increasing capacity and expanding its route network.” The airline currently serves six domestic destinations and one regional destination, Accra.

Ibom Air’s CEO, Mr. Mfon Udom stated:

This aircraft will significantly boost our capacity in response to the growing service demand. A special thanks to the Nigerian financial institutions who continue to partner with Ibom Air, especially Fidelity Bank and Union Bank.”

He also remarked on striving for operational efficiency:

“We appreciate the tremendous support shown to us by our valued customers recently as we bore through flight disruption. We are committed to delivering remarkable improvements moving forward.

The fleet comprises seven aircraft, including five CRJ900s and two 220-300s. The latest A220 was acquired from Carlyle Aviation, adding to the nine remaining units scheduled for delivery in the coming years.
