Ethiopian Airlines Commences IWD 2025 Celebrations
Ethiopian Airlines celebrated International Women’s Day 2025 with a formal ceremony and all-women-operated flights.
The event was attended by Ethiopia’s H.E. Dr. Ergoge Tesfaye, Minister of Women and Social Affairs, along with ministers, ambassadors, the Chief Commercial Officer of Ethiopian Airlines Group Mr. Lemma Yadecha, and invited guests.
The airline, marking its ninth consecutive year of this initiative, operated special flights to Athens, São Paulo, New Delhi, Windhoek, Dubai, and domestically to Bahir Dar.
“We are celebrating International Women’s Day for the ninth time with all-women-operated flights,” stated Ethiopian Airlines.
Accelerate Action
The IWD 2025 theme, “Accelerate Action,” underscores the urgency for gender equality.
According to the IWD organisers, it calls for “urgent and coordinated measures necessary to recover lost ground and ensure women are not left behind.”
