Kenya Airways Adds One Boeing 737-800 Aircraft

KQ’s latest 737 delivery brings total fleet to 35

Kenya Airways (KQ) expanded its fleet with the addition of a Boeing 737-800. The aircraft, delivered in February 2025, was acquired from aircraft lessor Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE).

Enhancing Capacity Amid Challenges

Kenya Airways Group Managing Director and CEO, Allan Kilavuka, commented on boosting capacity despite the current challenges in aircraft acquisition, stating:

It will increase our seat capacity and is a demonstration of our ability to adapt and grow in a challenging operating environment, even as the global aviation industry faces challenges in aircraft availability.”

In a statement, the airline outlined that it is engaged in advanced discussions to secure additional aircraft, “focusing on narrow and wide-body models offering increased seat capacity and operational efficiency.”
