Madagascar Airlines (MD) is set to expand its fleet with Embraer E-Jet E2 aircraft, with an expected delivery of the first of three E190-E2s in early 2023. The remaining two units are planned for delivery in 2024, as per an agreement signed between Madagascar Airlines, Embraer, and Azorra (aircraft lessor) on December 07 at Iavoloha Palace, Antananarivo. Madagascar Airlines will become the first operator of the new generation E2 jet in the Indian Ocean.

“These aircraft will complement the existing fleet of ATRs and enable the national airline to enhance the country’s domestic and regional connectivity – opening a number of new markets previously beyond the airline’s reach.” -Mr Michal Nowak, Marketing Director EMEA, Embraer.
