Maldives Welcomes Air Arabia’s Daily Non-stop Flights
SHJ-MLE flights operate daily from October 27, 2024.
Air Arabia (G9), low-cost carrier, inaugurated its non-stop flight on October 27, 2024, connecting Sharjah and Malé, Maldives.
To celebrate the launch, dual celebrations were held at both Sharjah International Airport and Velana International attended by senior representatives from Air Arabia and the respective airport authorities.
Air Arabia wil operate a daily service with its Airbus A320 fleet on the route.

- Flight G9 091 Departs Sharjah 08:00, Arrives in Maldives 13:20 Daily
- Flight G9 092 Departs Maldives 14:20, Arrives in Sharjah 17:55 Daily
Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, commented:

Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, CEO and Managing Director of MACL, noted that the new direct connection to Sharjah will increase arrivals from the Middle East and expand global city connections, enhancing VIA’s regional and global aviation presence.
He further mentioned, “With a focus on the tourism sector, we develop our routes and airport to ensure affordable and seamless air travel for those looking to explore the beauty of our islands.”
