Maldivian Welcomes Fifth ATR 42-600 Aircraft

Maldivian (Q2) has added its fifth ATR 42-600 aircraft, registration 8Q-IAV, which landed at Velana International Airport on June 7, 2025.

The new aircraft supports the airline’s ongoing fleet modernisation efforts, aiming to improve passenger comfort and reliability for inter-island travel in the Maldives.

Maldivian operates a fleet of 26 aircraft, including five ATR 42-600s, one A330-200, and eleven Twin Otter seaplanes.

The arrival of the fifth ATR 42-600 shows Maldivian’s dedication to continuous improvement,” notes the airline, highlighting its commitment to supporting local transportation needs and the tourism industry.
