Mauritius Ranks Among Top Emirates Summer Picks for 2025
US travellers show growing interest in Egypt, Kenya and South Africa

Emirates’ analysis of global booking data for July and August 2025 reveals a shift towards cultural experiences and lesser-known destinations.
Flight searches rose 7% year-on-year, with Vietnam, Mauritius (searches for flights rising 41% as the second most in-demand destination on the Emirates network this summer), and Sri Lanka leading demand.
The airline operates 25 weekly flights to Vietnam and double-daily Airbus A380 services to Mauritius in the Indian Ocean.
According to Emirates, “Vietnam has emerged as this summer’s ‘it’ destination,” with a 61% increase in interest.
The airline also notes a 41% rise in searches for Mauritius and a 32% increase for Sri Lanka.
Emirates adds that US-based travellers are increasingly focusing search activity on African destinations including Egypt, Kenya and South Africa, while UK-based users are searching 12% more than last year, with growing interest in long-haul routes such as Mauritius.
