Qatar Airways Completes Starlink Installation on Boeing 777s
Over 50 Boeing 777s now equipped with Starlink by July 10, 2025.

Qatar Airways (QR) has finalised its Starlink installation programme on 54 Boeing 777 aircraft, enabling in-flight Wi-Fi speeds of up to 500 Mbps per aircraft.
The airline states this positions it as the operator of the largest number of Starlink-equipped widebody aircraft globally and remains the only carrier in the MENA region offering the service.
According to Qatar Airways, the installation, originally scheduled as a two-year programme, was completed in just nine months, averaging 9.5 hours per aircraft.
“This milestone demonstrates our strategic investment in redefining our passengers’ expectations,” stated Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, CEO of Qatar Airways Group.
Building on this success, the airline has confirmed its focus on enhancing Starlink connectivity across its wider fleet, with plans to complete installations on its Airbus A350 fleet within the next year.

Since launching its first Starlink-equipped Boeing 777 in October 2024, Qatar Airways notes it has already operated over 15,000 Starlink-connected flights.
