The USD153 million expansion project of RGM International Airport in Zimbabwe is on course, as reported by local media. The contractor, China Jiangsu International, outlined that the structure of the new terminal is nearing completion and that decorations and MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) installations are underway. The airport’s annual handling capacity is marked to increase from 2.5 million to 6 million passengers.
“What we are waiting for is the delivery of equipment; That is the passenger facilitation equipment – which will make the airport complete and the airport functional, and we’re expecting that by the fourth quarter of this year [2022]. All that equipment will be on-site and installed.”
