Royal Air Maroc (AT), has formalised its inaugural partnership agreement (MOU) with humanitarian relief nonprofit Airlink.

RAM is committing to transport 50 tons of humanitarian cargo over the next year, provide passenger tickets for humanitarian personnel, and make a charitable cash donation to support Airlink operations.

Airlink noted the collaboration between Royal Air Maroc and Airlink will help NGOs address pressing needs in crisis-stricken communities throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.

Royal Air Maroc’s extensive Africa route network will significantly expand Airlink’s operational capabilities, particularly in West and Central Africa, including the Sahel region, impacted by complex humanitarian crises.

Furthermore, RAM’s support will notably benefit crisis-affected communities in Burkina Faso, Cameroon, the Central African Republic (including refugees from Sudan), the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mali, and Niger – along supporting humanitarian needs and strengthen health systems in Sierra Leone and the Middle East.

Abdelhamid ADDOU, RAM CEO, emphasised Morocco’s commitment to South-South cooperation and Africa’s development, stating, “This partnership with Airlink aligns perfectly with our vision and mission of continental solidarity.”

Steven J. Smith, Airlink President and CEO, highlighted the partnership’s potential to address critical humanitarian needs in challenging environments:

A key priority for Airlink is expanding our regional focus across Africa’s diverse regions by actively incorporating our humanitarian partners’ local insights to develop flexible and tailored operational strategies,” he said.
