RwandAir Joins IATA Safety Leadership Charter

RwandAir Commits to Safety Leadership

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) revealed on January 25, 2024, that RwandAir has become the newest signatory in Africa to the IATA Safety Leadership Charter.

RwandAir (WB) is the second carrier in Africa to sign the Charter after Ethiopian Airlines, which signed the Charter at its launch in September 2023.

The Charter is part of IATA’s Collaborative Aviation Safety Improvement Program (CASIP), under the Focus Africa initiative. It aims to bolster the safety culture within organisations.

IATA Commends RwandAir’s Commitment

Kamil Alawadhi, IATA’s Regional Vice-President for Africa and the Middle East, commended RwandAir’s commitment to safety:

“We commend RwandAir’s leadership for their commitment to safety by signing the IATA Safety Leadership Charter. This clearly demonstrates their dedication to cultivating a strong safety culture and continuously striving for improvements that benefit not only RwandAir but the broader industry as well.”
