Skyward Express, a regional airline based in Kenya, announced on April 19, 2025, its rebranding to Skyward Airlines.

The move signals a shift toward a broader vision for growth, innovation, and enhanced passenger experience, according to the operator.

In a statement, Skyward Airlines outlined that its name change reflects “expanded capabilities and an unwavering commitment to elevating experiences for passengers.”

The airline further noted that it is investing in “expanded routes, enhanced services, and innovations to ensure safer and smoother journeys for all passengers.”

While adopting a new identity, the operator emphasised that its core values remain unchanged, affirming that its mission is to “take passengers further, with heart.”

Skyward Joins AFRAA

On April 14, 2025, the African Airlines Association (AFRAA) welcomed Skyward Airlines as its newest member.

During a visit to Skyward Airlines’ headquarters in Nairobi, the AFRAA Secretary General, Mr. Abderahmane Berthé, presented the membership certificate to Chairman Capt. Mohammed Abdi and General Manager Ms. Diana Nyambura.

According to AFRAA, the partnership aims to “support Skyward Airlines’ ambitions to expand across the larger eastern African region while contributing to progress within the industry.”

The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss “regional industry developments, Skyward Airlines’ vision, and how membership can advance these plans,” as noted by the association.
