South African Airways and Gol Renew Codeshare Partnership
FlySAA and Gol rekindle codeshare effective July 2024
South African Airways and Gol Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes (GOL) have announced the reinstatement of their codeshare agreement, effective immediately.
This agreement, previously suspended due to the pandemic, reconnects South Africa and Brazil, facilitating tourism, business opportunities, and trade.
The airlines have outlined the agreement covers flights between major cities in both countries:
- Cape Town (CPT) Cape Town International Airport
- Johannesburg (JNB) O.R. Tambo International Airport
- Rio de Janeiro (GIG) Galeão-Antonio Carlos Jobim International Airport
- Domestic routes within South Africa (JNB, CPT, Durban (DUR), Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth, PLZ))
Additionally, SAA’s code will be placed on over 20 connecting GOL flights within Brazil.
The airlines plan to expand the agreement to include 60 destinations in Latin America and Africa, offering travellers more options for multi-city trips.
The agreement also allows for mileage accrual on SAA Voyager and Gol Smiles programs.
