South African Airways Connects Johannesburg and Abidjan with New Route
South African Airways (SA) to launch Côte d’Ivoire flights. The inaugural flight, operated on November 14, 2023.
South African Airways (SA) has announced the launch of a new route to Abidjan in Côte d’Ivoire, marking its 12th destination on the African continent.
Inaugural Flight: Johannesburg to Abidjan
The inaugural flight is scheduled to depart from Johannesburg on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. The route will be operated using the airline’s A330-300, equipped with full-lie flat business class seats.
Flight Schedule
SAA plans to operate three weekly flights to Félix Houphouët Boigny International Airport in Abidjan. Flights will depart Johannesburg on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 11h00, arriving in Abidjan at 17h00, with a 55-minute stopover in Accra.
Airfreight Link
In a statement, South African Airways highlighted that the new route will also facilitate an airfreight link between Accra, Abidjan, and Johannesburg, thereby strengthening trade connections within the SAA network.
