South African Airways Resumes Perth Flights

South African Airways (SA) has confirmed the resumption of its flights to Perth, Australia. The direct flights will commence on April 28, 2024.

In a statement, SAA highlighted that the Perth route is the second interoceanic route to be reopened within six months, following the launch of the Sao Paulo, Brazil route in October 2023.

South African Airways (SA) plans to operate three weekly flights between Johannesburg’s O.R Tambo International Airport (JNB) and Perth International Airport (PER), Australia.

“Besides the global interconnectivity potential of this route, Perth has long been a favoured destination for South African and Australian travellers, with approximately 80% of our target market being visiting family and friends,” says Professor John Lamola, CEO of SAA.

“The recommencement of the route provides an easier and direct passage for both leisure and business travellers, promoting trade and cultural exchange between South Africa and Australia.”
