TAAG Angola Airlines (DT), has announced that it will begin a phased transfer of its commercial passenger flights from the existing Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport to the new Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (AIAAN) starting November 10, 2024.

Cabinda Chosen for Initial Transfer

TAAG outlined that the Luanda-Cabinda route was selected for the initial phase due to its high passenger and cargo volume with multiple daily flights.

To enhance passenger convenience, TAAG will offer four daily flights to Cabinda from AIAAN, operated by a 74-seater Dash 8-Q400 aircraft. All departures and arrivals will exclusively operate from the new airport..

The national carrier noted that selecting the high-volume Cabinda route allows for controlled activation of AIAAN’s operational systems and staff, optimising processes and ensuring a positive passenger experience.

Phased Transfer for Domestic and International Routes

Following the Cabinda route, flights to Dundo, Saurimo, Luena (Eastern region), and Soyo will be transferred to AIAAN during December 2024. The remaining domestic and international destinations will migrate throughout the first quarter of2025.
