TAAG Angola Airlines Welcomes Second A220, ‘Longa’

D2-TAF 'Longa' lands in Luanda, marking a key fleet modernisation step

TAAG Angola Airlines has received its second Airbus A220-300 aircraft, ‘Longa’ with registration D2-TAF, which arrived at Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport on March 14, 2025.

In a statement, TAAG stated that the new aircraft is part of its 2024-2029 strategic plan and fleet expansion program, aimed at ‘elevating the African air travel experience.’

TAAG noted that the arrival ceremony was attended by Secretary of State for Civil Aviation, Maritime, and Port sectors, Rui Carreira, as well as TAAG’s Board Members, including Chairman António dos Santos Domingos and CEO Nelson Rodrigues de Oliveira.

The aircraft was blessed by church representatives, a moment TAAG described as ‘symbolic.’

Boosting Routes and Capacity

TAAG has stated that the ‘Longa’ will be key in expanding its route network and improving services.

The Airbus A220-300 has a total capacity of 137 passengers (12 in business class, 35 in premium economy class, and 90 in economy class).
