The Governments of the United Republic of Tanzania and The French Republic engaged in June 2022 to review the 1978 Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA).

The revised Air Services Agreement includes additional entry points – Mayotte and Reunion, codesharing between airlines from the two countries, and opening cargo destinations Paris and Marseille (long-haul) – Mayotte (short-haul). Once signed, the new BASA succeeds the 1978 agreement and set to benefit Tanzanian designated carriers, including Air Tanzania (ATCL) and Precision Air.
