Tanzania and Hungary Sign Bilateral Air Services Agreement
New partnership aims to boost trade and tourism between the two nations.

The Governments of Tanzania and Hungary have formalised a Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) to enhance air connectivity, promote trade, and stimulate tourism.
The agreement was signed on July 2, 2025, at the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) headquarters in Dar es Salaam by Mr. Salim Msangi, Director General of TCAA, and Dr. Mate Lowinger, Director General of the Hungarian Civil Aviation Authority.
“The BASA between Tanzania and Hungary is a strategic achievement” notes Mr. Msangi, highlighting that it will enable Tanzanian airlines to operate direct flights to Hungary, facilitating access to Central Europe.
Dr. Lowinger adds that this agreement marks a new chapter in bilateral relations, aiming to deepen collaboration through the aviation sector.
